TIAX designs, develops, and demonstrates technologies and solutions that meet the growing need for clean and efficient energy and transportation. We perform assessments, feasibility analyses, and demonstrations of pre-commercial technologies for clients that range from federal government agencies (the U.S. Department of Energy) to state and local agencies (e.g., the California Energy Commission, the South Coast Air Quality Management District) to the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Across a broad range of transportation applications and technologies, we perform full fuel-cycle analyses that identify and quantify lifetime air quality impacts (criteria pollutants, greenhouse gases, air toxics) for a wide array of technology and energy pathway combinations. We develop policies, such as California's Alternative Fuels Plan, and design and implement pioneering fleet modernization programs to reduce emissions from in-use heavy-duty vehicles.
